CVHS Boy’s Summer Soccer Camp & Summer League Tryouts Announced!

ATTENTION ALL INCOMING 9th GRADE STUDENTS interested in playing Soccer for CVHS: (SummerCamp 2012)

CVHS Boys Soccer is pleased to announce its Boys Summer Soccer Camp & Summer League Try-Outs for the upcoming 2012-13 Season!

Incoming CVHS 9th grade students are invited to participate:

  • Thursday, June 21, 2012:  3:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Friday, June 22, 2012:  9:00am – 12:00pm
  • Saturday, June 23, 2012:  9:00am – 12:00pm

The Camp will be held on the grass soccer fields behind the school.

  • Camp Costs:  $105 registration fee, payable on-line @ www.cusd-ace.org; $25 material fee paid to “CV Boys Soccer”.

  • Summer League Costs:  Yet to be determined.

Summer League will occur from 7/2/2012 through 7/27/2012, with games on Mondays & Wednesday, with occassional Friday games.  9th Grade players who have made the Summer League will be notified by Wednesday, 6/27/2012.

Cougars Advance to CIF Division 2 Finals!

The Cougars have done it again, and for a 2nd straight season will compete in the CIF Division 2 Finals!

They will face Valley View High School on either Friday, March 2 or Saturday, March 3.

The Cougars started the Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Corona, then beat Santa Ana on penalties after a 1-1 draw.  Capo then hosted Indio and beat them 4-0, and went on to La Sierra to beat them 2-1.

Valley View made their way to the final via two matches that had them in a shoot-out, including their semi-final victory versus Coachella Valley.

The venue for the Final has not yet been announced, so return to this site often, and as soon as the date and location are announced, you’ll see it here!

Senior Day

CVHS Boys Soccer Senior Day is Thursday, February 9, 2012, 5:00pm at Cougar Stadium versus Trabuco Hills High School.

Come out and say “Thank You” to our departing Seniors!

“THANK YOU!” from Coach Sorrell!

“Congratulations!” to the Frosh/Soph team who made it to the Final of the CVHS Tournament only to be beaten on a penalty by San Clemente.

“Congratulations!” to the Junior Varsity team who won the consolation bracket at the CVHS Tournament and then went on to win the North Orange County Classic Tournament!

A BIG “THANK YOU!” to everyone who helped run both tournaments; tournament directors, snack bar helpers, team mums, volunteers, coaches and anyone I may have missed.  It was a great success thatnks to all of you!

Next year we will fine-tune some things and take some ideas to rais more money at the tournaments–Spirit Wear, raffle, hot selling food items, etc.

JV Tournament Results

CONGRATULATIONS to University High School, 2011 Capistrano High School JV Tournament Champions!  University defeated a worthy Rancho Santa Margarita team 1-0 in the Final, played in the Stadium at 5:00pm.

In the Consolation bracket, Capistrano Valley High School defeated Trabuco Hills 3-0 to clinch the top of the Consolation table.

“THANK YOU!” to all participating teams for making this year’s JV Tournament a success, and we look forward to hosting you again next year!

Mustang Cup Varsity Tournament Schedule Released

CVHS Boys Soccer Varsity will participate in the 2011 Trabuco Hills High School Mustang Soccer Tournament, December 26, 27 & 28, 2011.

Come out to support your Cougars as Capistrano Valley High School competes against the area’s best teams.
